Project Overview

AO Design Studio is a leading architecture practice in the Southern Highlands. I rebuilt their digital presence to match the standard of their built work, with premium positioning and search performance as joint objectives.

The constraint

Architecture practices are chosen on craft, so the site had to demonstrate quality rather than claim it — while also ranking for competitive terms like sustainable architecture. Those goals conflict more often than not: the structured, keyword-led content that search rewards is usually the enemy of a restrained portfolio site. The work was finding structure that served both.

Approach

• Started with strategy and wireframes to settle site structure and flow before any visual design.
• Designed high-fidelity screens against AO's established brand rather than imposing a new identity.
• Built in Webflow for scalability and ongoing editing.
• Treated SEO as a structural decision from the first wireframe — content hierarchy, metadata and an article strategy targeting growth terms — not as a post-launch retrofit.

Outcome

The site continues to evolve with the practice, with iterative design and content improvements rather than a fixed launch state.
